Family Service

Church is people together.  Our Family Service aims to provide opportunity of anyone - whatever age, background or experience - to learn more about God and to respond to him.  There's opportunity for teaching, worship, reflection, prayer ... sometimes all at the same time.

And we're not above having a bit of a laugh at times.

'Family' includes the kids, but isn't restricted to traditional families.  If you've been born then you count as family for this.   Children have their own special programmes half way through the Family Service.

Communion Service

It's good to remember your roots.

We make space every Sunday - usually evening, 6.30pm - to remember Jesus' life and death for us. Styles and format change, but the focus is, as Paul put it, "Christ crucified, the hope of glory".

Church Prayer Meeting (1st & 3rd Wednesdays in Month)

Opportunity for the whole church to come together to pray.  Perhaps one of the simplest of Church gatherings - God says he'll listen, so we pray.  Doing it together is encouraging.

Missionary Prayer Meetings (Quarterly)

Long Lane Church supports several individuals and organisations working for God around the world.  We pray for them in our general prayer times, but these meetings give them special focus.

TOTS - Parent & Toddlers Group

Opportunity for toddlers to enjoy socialising with each other and receive mutual support in the sometimes difficult task of living with their parents. The parents come too!

Barnabas Bible Study

Opportunity for those available during the daytime to come together with other local churches for an in depth study of the bible.   Barnabas was nicknamed 'encourager', and BBS aims to follow his example.

Friends & Neighbours (Monthly Ladies Meeting)

Each month visiting speakers present many different topics, and along the way show how God and his truth permeate all aspects of our lives.   We believe there's a half-decent cup of tea involved, too
